“To keep students motivated in school, teachers often have to be creative and entertaining. Such is the case with Lynne Pike, a second grade teacher at Calusa Elementary School in New Port Richey, Fla. Mrs. Pike wanted to show her students that learning basic multiplication rules can be fun, so she wrote rap lyrics and combined them with music to make the math rules more enjoyable.”

“Teacher Lynne Pike stood in front of more than 120 sixth-graders Tuesday with a pained look on her face, trying to get the kids to move a little, shake a little, shimmy a little. The sixth-graders at Deer Park Elementary, lined up four deep and about 30 across, were performing a rap song they'd written with a 'Say no to drugs' theme.”
